Autumn is the season that calls for cosiness. And with a comfy room, crisp rambles, heartwarming coffee shop favourites, wholesome food, seasonal crafts or an endless list of indoor activities, you’ll find it at Potters. And it’s all wrapped up in one simple price.
State-of-the-art theatres brighten those darker nights too, with outstanding performances each night from the Potters Theatre Company. And this autumn, there’s a nod to the 80s too; the decade of big hair, bold fashion and iconic music!

But on one special weekend, there’s nothing more memorable than gathering up your friends and family, and joining us outside to witness a truly stunning fireworks display.
In the refreshing autumnal air and against the backdrop of the coast or countryside, watch in awe as we light up the skies.
To add to the atmosphere, the displays are supported by an expertly curated soundtrack that complements the action. And our Entertainment Team are always on hand to provide some fun to the proceedings too!
But while you might think we deliver this jaw-dropping display, the reality is, we leave it to the experts…
We spoke to Lucy Brookes, the director of Electrify Pyrotechnics whose team is behind our displays, to find out more about what goes into creating such memorable events.
“Every display we do is different, depending on the brief. The Potters display, for example, includes over 350 individual fireworks at each resort, Hopton and Five Lakes.
“Each display requires six members of our team from start to finish. There’s around 20 hours in creation prior to our arrival. And then another 10 hours getting everything prepped on the day.
“On the night, three of the team will be present; one to operate the music, and two to ensure the display goes as planned.
Electrify Pyrotechnics host major events up and down the country, all year round“We host lots of brilliant events every year, from private functions such as weddings, prom nights, product launches and New Year’s Eve celebrations, to public displays. We even welcomed home the HMS Montrose into HMNB Devonport in 2022.
“The biggest event we’ve worked on [aside from Potters of course!] was for the British Fireworks Championships in Plymouth, which had over 100,000 spectators! And we were delighted to come away with the ‘Young Persons Choice’ Award following the display.”
Clearly then, these are not your average fireworks. But then, a break at Potters is not your average break either! After all, where else can you enjoy a delicious hot chocolate to warm the cockles right after a spectacular display, and without the pesky bill?
