We’re delighted to announce that Potters Resorts Five Lakes has won
Our Five Star Resort in the beautiful Essex countryside has seen huge investment since early 2022. Over 70,000 guests have since enjoyed all-inclusive breaks at our newest destination.
Having shifted from corporate hospitality to the UK staycation market, Five Lakes employs over 300 staff in the local area.
Judges said, “There is so much to do for all tastes, with every game under the sun provided to entertain active guests and great facilities for relaxation too”. They also called the indoor facilities “very impressive”.
On the night, held at Snape Maltings near Ipswich, John Potter and Managing Director Mike Scott were on hand to accept the award.
Since its acquisition in late 2021, Potters Resorts have invested over £20m into brand new facilities at Five Lakes.
The resort now features 3 restaurants, new kitchens, a state-of-the-art Glade Theatre, The Garden Bar & outdoor Terrace complete with stage, as well as an indoor sports park and numerous leisure facilities.
In March 2023, Five Lakes received the prestigious Five-Star award from VisitEngland. This reflects high standards of food quality, entertainment, service and cleanliness.
The resort’s golfing facilities have also seen a major upgrade. New course machinery plus a brand new clubhouse and Pro Shop has seen club memberships rapidly increasing.
John Potter, proprietor of Potters Resorts, said:
“Acquiring Five Lakes and making massive changes to the facilities and infrastructure during a global pandemic certainly had its challenges. But within 6 months we’d launched our first All-Inclusive Breaks in what’s now a warm, vibrant, friendly resort.“
"Enjoy a Summer Break in the scenic Essex Countryside. Relax and unwind in this picturesque landscape as you soak up the Summer sun and take advantage of the inclusive activities on offer."
“We’re so thankful to them and our wonderful guests who have supported our Five Lakes journey. It has been a huge effort to make all this possible in such a short space of time. We’re thrilled to breathe new life into what was a sleeping giant here in the beautiful Essex countryside. We’ve got lots of plans for continued development in the years ahead.”
