Family Breaks Price Comparison
Potters Resorts and Center Parcs
A Fully Inclusive Family Break at Potters Resorts will never be the cheapest. There, we said it.
But there’s a big difference between being cheap, and being great value for money. And as the UK’s Only Fully Inclusive Resort for families during the school holidays, a break at Potters undoubtedly offers the best bang for your hard-earned buck.
With a unique freedom that fully inclusive provides, you’ll never grow tired of just saying “Yes!” on your all-important family getaway.
So if it’s quality time together you’re after, then look no further. But if you still need convincing, this page will help explain the Potters difference…
Keep scrolling to learn why Potters Resorts is the perfect destination for your next family getaway.
While there are some obvious differences, we’re going to compare how a family break at Potters stacks up against one of the country’s industry leaders, Center Parcs.
Let’s say you’re a family of four looking to get away for 4 nights over the summer holidays. It’s easy to be swayed by the prices you compare at time of booking, but we’re going to highlight how things aren’t always as they seem and, equally, how Potters is doing things differently.
Comfortable Accommodation
The first step, wherever you go, is always accommodation. Here at Potters, you can choose from a variety of sizes, from comfy bungalows to spacious Hotel rooms. For the purposes of this exercise, we’ll compare our lowest price accommodation which, at Potters Resorts Hopton-on-Sea, is a standard Bungalow.

Having made your booking at Potters, there is nothing else to do, or to pay for. So sit back and look forward to the fun!
Over at Center Parcs, Elveden Forest, their lowest priced accommodation for a family of four is a 2-bedroomed New Style Woodland Lodge.

Pssst...
Pssst, that same room is only £879 just four weeks before by the way; an almost 60% increase for the same experience during the summer holidays.
Family fun, for everyone
One of the first things to look for in family getaway is ‘stuff to do’. Because, quite frankly, no one wants to hear “I’m bored”. It just dampens the mood. At Potters, the list of activities is loooooong. And to be clear, fully inclusive means you won’t pay a single penny extra to enjoy them.
There’s no need to prebook anything!
When you arrive, your daily programme will show everything going on throughout your stay. Why not bring a bright pen and when you arrive you can highlight everything you want to do over a refreshing round of drinks (which are included too).
At Center Parcs, activities come with a price tag.
For example, here’s a selection of eight activities that will fill approximately 9 hours of your 4-Night stay…

We believe we offer the best family breaks in the whole of the UK, but you don’t just have to take our word for it.
Guest feedback is the single most important thing in our book, which has seen us win many awards. Not to mention that, in 2024, Potters Resorts came top of the Which? UK’s Best Holiday Parks & Resorts survey for the second time running!

Delicious food without the bills
Every break at Potters Resorts is full board. That means 3-course dinners from arrival to breakfast on departure, plus 3-course lunches on every full day of your break too. Your table is allocated, so you can come and go as you please, without the need to constantly book in advance. Children’s menus offer added variety, and with a friendly member of our Restaurant Team on hand to look after everything for you, meal times are made super simple at Potters.
Still a little peckish?
A 4th meal of the day is served during our late night entertainment, perfect for satisfying any pre-bedtime tummy rumbles.
At Center Parcs, you’ll have the option of self catering if you’re staying in a lodge. However, it’s a fine balance between saving on the extra bills, managing hungry bellies and not spending too much of what should be your holiday, in the kitchen. With full board as standard at Potters, we looked at the rising bills for comparable full board dining at Center Parcs (not including that cheeky late night snack).

Bye Center Parcs, hello Potters
“I have been going to Center Parcs for the last 10 years but have been put off by excessive pricing, expensive and limited activities and restaurants. If you don’t book everything months in advance you probably won’t be able to eat out or do anything. At Potters despite everything being all inclusive, all the activities were available and had fairly short queues but it really doesn’t end there. The food was simply amazing, every day I got to try another fine dinner. We had our very own table and our waiter Daniel was professional, courteous and polite. The entertainment was excellent. It is a little more to come to Potters than Center Parcs but after doing the activities, the food and drinks I doubt there is much in it. Sure you don’t get a forest but you get stunning views from the clifftop. I look forward to my next break at Potters which is already booked. Center Parcs take note - this is how a holiday should be.”

Unlimited refreshments
Hefty bar bills are just another thing you won’t need to worry about at Potters, as all your coffee, juice and soft drinks are taken care of. Plus, for the adults, a huge choice of branded beers, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic alternatives are the cherry on top of your fully inclusive getaway.
Shaking it up
On family breaks, we chuck in milkshakes and kids cocktails too! Plus, complimentary water stations are dotted around for your convenience.
It would be easy to start shying away from the bar when you’re paying for each and every round. Families at Potters enjoy an average of five drinks, each day, across a 4-Night / 5-Day Midweek Break. Based on an average cost of £20.00, it’s easy to see how the rounds add up elsewhere…

Memorable nights, under the lights...
Every stay at Potters is one to remember. With different shows to enjoy throughout your stay, courtesy of the immensely talented Potters Theatre Company, we’ll bring West End-quality entertainment right to you here on the Norfolk coast.
Whether it’s Spotlight, a tribute to Broadway and West End Musicals, Totally 80s, a retro rewind to a classic era for music, or our flagship show Simply the Best, you’ll enjoy a healthy dose of brilliant entertainment, hilarious comedy and stunning visuals.
Kids Club Activities
Entertainment is designed with the whole family in mind, but we also host evening activities just for the children and, you guessed it, at no extra charge.
And that’s where our comparison ends, because entertainment is something even money can’t buy at Center Parcs, leaving you to either catch some early nights, or find your own entertainment (at additional expense).
A Final Comparison
When you’re seeking the perfect family break, don’t just look at the booking price. Because the reality is, when it comes to your final cost, it may not add up quite how you anticipated. But more importantly, your precious time away may start to become more of a holiday nightmare, than a chance to just say “Yes!”

You’ll thoroughly enjoy your stay
“It perhaps can be a leap of faith to make your first Potters booking, particularly if you’ve been to other places like Center Parcs before. Especially when you see the cost of which isn’t cheap, particularly for a UK holiday. But it IS worth it. It’s all there for you. And you don’t have to put your hand in your pocket whilst you are there. In summary: We loved it. But you’ll leave with the holiday blues.”
